Facial Symmetry

Facial symmetry influences judgments of aesthetic traits of physical attractiveness and beauty. For instance, in mate selection, people have been shown to have a preference of symmetry. This is because it is seen an indicator of health and genetic fitness, but also as holding adaptation qualities; reflecting the ability to withstand the changes in their environments.
Facial symmetry has been shown to have an effect of ratings of attractiveness in human faces. More symmetrical faces are perceived as more attractive in both males and females, although facial symmetry plays a larger role in judgments of attractiveness concerning female faces.

I have used this information to construct my own examples of the same.
I took 3 subjects whose original photos are below. Mirroring each side of their face, the aim of this project is to see if the two sides are similar and to reveal small asymmetries or blemishes. Using photoshop to blend the photos and make the final product look more natural.

Pride flag

 Pride Flag I have created a composition using only curvy lines, ie: there are no straight lines in this composition. This composition I have filled out in 6 differen ways. Using shades, tints and tones of  violet, blue, green, yellow and orange I have used the composition to replicate my own pride flag.  Keeping each composition the same, I wanted to show that we are essentially the same although we are different (shown by the varying colour).  For better viewing of the composition I have attached a larger image below.

Character Drawing On Illustrator

   Using Illustrator I have drawn out a character. My character is  inspired from everyday women in Indo- western wear. I approached this assignment with a more comical style in mind but at the same time giving slight depth but adding shadow where I deemed necessary.
